Our Story

Hello! We are Zac and Karen. Thank you for taking the time to look at our profile and for considering us as potential adoptive parents. We are excited for you to learn more about us!

We met in 2011 while in college pursuing the same undergraduate degree. After having a few classes together, Zac built up the courage to ask Karen out on an ice cream date after class (who could say no to ice cream?!). The date went well, then more dates followed, and it was easy to tell that the relationship would continue to grow....

About Zac, written by Karen

Zac is a wonderful husband and father. He may seem quiet at first, but as someone gets to know him, they quickly find that he is a talkative guy! He is often researching or looking up information, and is a warehouse of knowledge for random facts and movie quotes. He is a hardworking guy who enjoys diving into hands-on projects and goes out of his way to help family and friends with anything they need.

Zac is great with kids, and is frequently goofing around with them, wrestling, playing innocent jokes on them,...

About Karen, written by Zac:

Karen is everything I could have hoped for in a wife and mother. She is what makes our house a home. Karen is self-sacrificing even in the small, simple aspects of life that are taken for granted; her willingness to place family and friend’s needs and desires above her own is just one of her many beautiful attributes. She is organized, both professionally and personally, forward-thinking, and generous with her God-gifted talents. Karen is frequently described by friends and coworkers as genuine and cool under pressure and never stresses out about the...

Our Children

Our first baby, Levi, was born in June 2020. He unexpectedly graced us with his presence seven weeks early! After a few weeks in the NICU with some time to eat and grow he was able to come home with us. Levi is such a sweet little boy with a gentle soul and a silly personality.

Our second baby, Hannah, was born in August of 2022. When she was five-days-old, we found out that her hospital newborn screening came back flagged with a...

Our Home

After living in an apartment for the first few years of our marriage, we decided to buy a home in 2019. We were drawn to the location of the home, the property, and the rural setting, but knew the house would need some love! We spent time and hard work renovating the house and the yard. We take pride in all the projects that we have been able to complete, all of which have made this house our home!

We live off a dirt road in a...

Our Family & Friends

We are close to both sides of our family, and both have siblings, who are all married with young kids. We have many cousins, who all have families, as well, making for large extended families on both sides. We live close to most of our immediate family and spend lots of time together, whether for small birthday parties, large Christmas/Easter dinners, or simply getting together just to hang out and let the kids play! Both sides of our family are very excited and supportive of our decision to adopt and are eagerly waiting for a new little one to join the...

Hobbies, Interests, Traditions

Some of Karen’s favorite things to do are reading, gardening/landscaping around the house, doing small craft projects, and spending time with family/friends. Zac enjoys hunting and fishing, house projects on our house or at family/friends’ homes, reading, wrestling with Levi, watching football (Lions and Michigan of course), and spending time with family and friends. Some of Levi’s favorite things to do (listed by Levi himself!) are playing in the sandbox, playing on the swings and the slides at the park, wrestling with daddy, playing racing...

Thank You

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our profile. We want to express how grateful we are for this opportunity and for your consideration of an adoption plan.

We know all too well that life can throw unexpected curveballs, that life can turn in a direction that you never imagined would happen, and at times, can be scary and overwhelming. Journeying through these times has strengthened our personal belief that God is for us, all the time, during the good and the bad, and that He will help place...
